The Head of Technical Accounting is responsible for leading the Group's technical accounting function, ensuring the consistent application of IFRS, UK GAAP and other relevant accounting standards across the organisation. The role provides expert accounting advice on complex transactions, supports external reporting requirements, drives accounting policy development and implementation, and acts as the primary technical accounting advisor to senior finance leadership and business stakeholders. The role plays a critical part in safeguarding accounting compliance, supporting strategic transactions, maintaining strong governance, and ensuring the integrity of the Group's financial reporting.
As the Head of Financial Operations in Mumbai, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of transactions related to accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit control across multiple departments and 25 different legal entities across the globe. Your primary objective will be to streamline processes, optimise efficiencies, and ensure accurate and timely processing of payments and collections. The business implemented SAP 4 Hana in April 2023, there is some further stabilisation required, as well as a key focus on digitalisation to enhance the Order to Cash (OTC) and Purchase to Pay (P2P) processes for the future. The department has an ethos of continuous improvement, refining systems and creating efficiencies. This, along with the rapid growth of the business, leads to a varied and dynamic working environment.
This role is based in India but carries an international remit, owning logistics and customs for Pharmanovia's trade lanes between India and our markets across Europe, LATAM, APAC and MEA. It covers both directions of flow: exports of finished product out of India to these regions, and imports of materials and goods back into India. The Logistics & Customs Manager leads a distributed, international team, including logistics colleagues based in Europe who report into this role, and works closely with regional supply chain leads, the CMO team, Quality and Finance across every market we trade with. The role owns the relationship with customs agents, freight forwarders and warehouse partners in each of these regions. The successful candidate will bring hands-on knowledge of Indian customs and trade rules, a working understanding of customs and trade compliance in Europe and other key regions, and a solid grounding in pharmaceutical distribution and Good Distribution Practice (GDP). They will be comfortable managing people and priorities across time zones and cultures, keeping shipments compliant and moving in every direction. The role reports to the Senior Logistics and Customs Manager, is based in India, and involves regular collaboration with, and occasional travel to, our teams and partners across Europe, LATAM, APAC and MEA. As Pharmanovia's international operations grow, the responsibilities of this role may evolve to meet the changing needs of the business.
